Tissues :
A group of cells that are specialized to perform a particular function forms a tissue.
Or
Tissues are groups of cells having a similar structure and act together to perform a specific function.
All types of tissues have two basic components:
- Cells: having common origin and function.
- Inter-cellular substances: Are nonliving, fibrous, jelly-like substances.
Importance of tissues
1. Formation of tissues has brought about the division of labour in multicellular organism.
2. Tissues become organize to form organ and organs organise to form organ system.
Tissues are mainly classified into two types :
1. Plant Tissues 2. Animal Tissues
Plant tissues
Plant do not move. So most of the tissues, they have are suppotive. Most of these tissues are dead and need less maintenance.

Animal tissues :
Animal tissues are made up of animal cell. These are not rigid.
